The play Oliver was truly fantastic.
I continuously marvel at the intertwining complexity of music, acting and drama with such a large cast including so many talented children, singers and actors. Some of the lines and songs are so memorable. The song “Consider Yourself” is still echoing in my head, just one of the nostalgic memories from when I was a child now come alive again. You are to be congratulated on this monumental undertaking which brings English classics to Jerusalem.

We saw OLIVER! on Wed. and sat next to a man visiting from Australia. We had a chance to chat with him before the play and during intermission. At the end he told us that he was in awe of the professional performance! Thought you should know.

After having watched the first three performances, I’m confident that all performances will be magnificent. So far each show was better than the previous one. I feel very proud and honored to be an integral part of Encore.

I just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed Oliver’s performance tonight. For me, such a musical is much nicer than what is considered more professional (and this doesn’t mean that this one was not professional!) It was mostly entertaining and lively.

I saw “Oliver!” on Wednesday night and thought you did a great job. Enormous cast, lots of energy, lots of fun, and musically satisfying (I’ve always liked the score). Congratulations on another job well done!

I didn’t want to see Oliver because I knew the story and didn’t want the misery to overflow into what is already a lonely Friday/Saturday. However…I decided to go…And was I surprised.
From the time the curtain came up on the huge detailed painting-in true Bonnevalle style–where was it done? Too huge for our area! Roxane is truly a genius. And then the boys. Dozens of them filling the stage and like miniature Rockettes they did routines that maybe ten would have accomplished…
After I met with several people I know–all of whom were blown over by the scenery and the way the boys worked.. We agreed that the only way you could produce something as exciting would be to bring in Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey with all the animals on stage.

We saw “Oliver” at yesterday’s (Sunday’s) matinee with our four local grandchildren, and all of us loved the show. It was beautifully directed, and was truly a work of art. I had tears in my eyes with each song. Although the children (ages 6-almost 10) love shows, this was their first true live American musical. We all walked away either quoting lines, singing songs or discussing what we liked best. It was a stunner!
Yasher koach — you really out-did yourself on this one.

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the performances of Oliver that I watched. The production was wonderful – the staging and stage sets, costumes and choreography were a joy to behold and the performances of the leads and the chorus were thrilling. It was particularly special to see the infectious excitement of the children and I really enjoyed working behind the scenes and being a part of that amazing energy.
I can only guess at the many hours you spent putting it all together but the sleepless nights were truly worthwhile!

I want to thank you and Paul for allowing me to join Encore and to perform in Oliver. The process and final performances are an intoxicating drug – and I am hooked. I am now suffering from withdrawal…I have never worked with a more professional and interesting group of people – all of them both on and off stage, from 8 to 84.
…Again thanks, I cannot wait for the next opportunity to work on a new project with Encore.
